In the center of the disc indication of the denomination of the coin: 10 RUBLES, inside of the figure 0 hidden pictures of the number 10 and of the inscription RUB visible by turns on changing angle of vision, in the lower part of the disc the mint trade mark SPMD, on the ring along the rim above the inscription: BANK OF RUSSIA, below the year of issue 2016, to the left and to the right stylized twigs of plants going over to the disc.

Belgorod Oblast is a federal subject of Russia. The region is located about 500-700 km south of Moscow on the border with Ukraine. The administrative center of the region is Belgorod. Belgorod Oblast has about 40 % of known Russian deposits of iron ores.

In 1712 the achievement of Belgorod soldiers in Poltava battle was highly appreciated by Peter I the Great who granted a banner to Belgorod regiment. It depicted a lion symbolizing defeated Sweden and an eagle personifying the winner – Russia. In 1730, coat of arms was approved by the city of Belgorod - prototype of the modern. On the blue rectangular shield, pointed below, shows the lion lying, yellow, and black eagle above him domed, beneath the earth green.
