Description

The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2020 or simply Euro 2020, is scheduled to be the 16th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).

The tournament, to be held in 11 cities in 11 UEFA countries, was originally scheduled to take place from 12 June to 12 July 2020. The tournament was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe and rescheduled for 11 June to 11 July 2021.

Felipe VI (born 30 January 1968) is the King of Spain. He ascended to the throne on 19 June 2014 following the abdication of his father, King Juan Carlos I. He is the only son of Juan Carlos and his wife Sofía of Greece and Denmark.

With a capacity of 53,289 seats, San Mamés is the 8th-largest stadium in Spain and the largest in the Basque Country. On 19 September 2014, San Mamés was selected as one of the 13 venues to host matches at UEFA Euro 2020.
