At the top in the central part, in a circular sense and in capital letters the legend ‘Mudéjar Architecture of Aragon’.

Mudéjar Architecture of Aragon is an aesthetic trend in the Mudéjar style, which is centered in Aragon (Spain) and has been recognized in some representative buildings as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The chronology of the Aragonese Mudejar occupies 12th to the 17th century and includes more than a hundred architectural monuments located predominantly in the valleys of the Ebro, Jalón and Jiloca.

The Tower of Iglesia de San Salvador (Spanish: Torre de la Iglesia de San Salvador) is a mudéjar bell tower located in Teruel, Spain. It is believed that the mudéjar Tower of El Salvador may have been built during the first quarter of the XIVth century based on the judges' account in the writings known as the Libro Verde de Teruel. It has been included in a World Heritage Site, originally called "Mudejar Architecture of Teruel" and later extended.

Reverse

A geographical map of Western Europe spans the outer ring and inner core on the right side of the coin. The inscription 2 EURO is superimposed over the map of Europe, with the numeral “2” located in an open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean.

12 stars are located on the right side of the outer ring, with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin, visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.

Luc Luycx, a designer at the Royal Belgian Mint, designed the Euro’s common reverse; his initials, LL, are seen on the right side of the design, just under the “O” in “EURO.”

Edge

The sequence "2 ★ ★" repeated six times alternately upright and inverted.
