Opened in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches that commenced on November 20, 2022, Al-Bayt Stadium (lit. 'The House Stadium'), situated in Al Khor, Qatar, is a retractable roof football stadium. Notably, it is positioned 35 km away from Doha, making it the farthest stadium from the capital city utilized in the World Cup. The construction contract for the stadium was awarded in 2015 to Qatari contractor Galfar Al Misnad, along with Webuild S.p.A. and Cimolai.
