Description

A remarkable vantage point captures the venerable headquarters of the University of Naples "Federico II," paying homage to its eight centuries of existence as one of the oldest academic institutions globally.

Established on June 5, 1224, by Frederick II, the King of Sicily and Holy Roman Emperor, the University of Naples Federico II holds the distinction of being the oldest state-supported institution for higher education and research globally. Among its distinguished alumni is the renowned Roman Catholic theologian and philosopher, Thomas Aquinas.
