Coin description		City of Military Glory is an honorary title bestowed upon the citizenry of Russian cities, where defenders had displayed courage, steadfastness, and mass heroism in the fight for their Fatherland’s freedom and independence during the Second World War. In the fall of 1941, Mozhaysk lay squarely at the center of the German attempt to seize Moscow. After desperate resistance, the town was seized by the Nazis on Oct. 18 and liberated on Jan. 20, 1942 as part of the counter-offensive following the Soviet victory in the Battle of Moscow.
