Institute of National Planning (INP) was established in 1960 as the first independent think tank institute in the area of Planning and Development. INP was the first institute concerned with development planning in the Arab Region, Middle East & the African Continent. The Institute cooperated with several International partners such as UN organizations in order to undertake applied research and studies needed for planning the economic and social sectors.

The institute focuses mainly on supporting decision-makers in Egypt & outside Egypt. Its main target to get benefit from international think tanks such as KDI. INP has a mission to help and support academia in Egypt and outside Egypt, in addition to the private sector and civil society.
