Description

The Writers' Union was founded by the writer Youssef El-Sibai in the 1975 and included elite creators Naguib Mahfouz, writer Mohamed Abdel Halim Abdullah, writer Ihsan Abdel Quddus, poet Ahmed Ramy, critic Rajaa El-Naqash, writer Tharwat Abaza, writer Fikri Abaza, writer Ahmed Ali Bakathir, writer Abdel Hamid Gouda El Sahar, writer Amin Youssef Ghorab and other great writers.

An off-metal strike (OMS) refers to the minting of coins using genuine dies but in a metal different from the original.

Obverse

Depicts the logo of Writer's Union (a quill, that is a symbol of writing in the front scroll papers behind them a sun and in background 24 bars) surrounded by a wreath of lotus flowers on both sides, 7 stars above and 2 below.
