Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani (born 1 January 1952) is a member of the ruling Al Thani Qatari royal family. He was the ruling Emir of Qatar from 1995 to 2013. The Qatari government now refers to him as His Highness the Father Emir.

An off-metal strike (OMS) refers to the minting of coins using genuine dies but in a metal different from the original.

Obverse

Depicts the coat of arms of Qatar, dates above, and the name of the country in Arabic below.

The emblem shows two crossed white curved swords in a yellow circle. Between the swords, there is a sailing ship (dhow) sailing on blue and white waves beside an island with two palm trees.
