Obverse

Depicts the coat of arms of Vanuatu, surrounded by the country name in Bislama, the issue date above,

The coat of arms of Vanuatu depicts a Melanesian warrior holding a spear, standing in front of a mountain, all superimposed on a boar's tusk. Surrounding this are two crossed namele fern fronds, with a golden scroll at the bottom bearing the national motto: "LONG GOD YUMI STANAP" (which translates from Bislama as "IN GOD WE STAND").
