Description

Italian Federation for Rare Diseases (UNIAMO) is a non-governmental federation driven by patients, comprising over 190 rare disease patient associations. Established in 1999, its mission is dedicated to safeguarding the rights and enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families.

Depicts the emblem of Rare Disease Day, inaugurated in 2008, and currently observed on February 29th (featuring a human silhouette cradled within hands, symbolizing unity with individuals affected by rare diseases). Encircling the emblem are inscriptions "29 February 2024" and "Rare Disease Day" positioned respectively above and below it. At the center-bottom, the denomination "5 EURO" and the designer's name "MOMONI" are displayed, while the Mint of Rome is identified with the "R" symbol located on the upper right.
