On 28 July 1960 France agreed to Mauritania becoming fully independent. Nevertheless, when Mauritania declared its independence on 28 November 1960, its level of political as well as economic development was, at best, embryonic and Mauritania became an independent nation in November 1960.

The spotted seabass (Dicentrarchus punctatus) is a species of ray-finned fish belonging to the family Moronidae, the temperate basses. This species is found in the marine and brackish waters of the coastal eastern Atlantic Ocean from the English Channel to the Canary Islands and Senegal, as well as through the Mediterranean Sea.

The dromedary, also known as the Arabian camel (Camelus dromedarius), is a large, single-humped even-toed ungulate. It is the smallest of the three camel species, with adult males reaching a height of 1.8–2 m (5.9–6.6 ft) at the shoulder and females standing 1.7–1.9 m (5.6–6.2 ft) tall. Notable features include a long, curved neck, a narrow chest, and a single hump composed of fat bound together by fibrous tissue, which is 20 cm (7.9 in) tall or more. The coat is typically brown, and the dromedary's distinctive traits differentiate it from the Bactrian camel and wild Bactrian camel.
