Description

The Second Spanish Republic (1931–1939) was Spain's government after King Alfonso XIII's deposition on April 14, 1931. It ended on April 1, 1939, following its defeat in the Spanish Civil War to General Francisco Franco's Nationalists.

Obverse

Depicts a woman facing right (allegory of the Republic) holding a small olive branch in the raised right hand. The date above the central hole, and lettering across the top and right.
