The 2018 World Wrestling Championships, the 15th edition of the combined events, took place from October 20 to 28 in Budapest, Hungary. The competition featured three disciplines: men's freestyle, women's freestyle, and men's Greco-Roman, each with ten weight categories, totaling thirty weight categories. Over 900 wrestlers from more than 100 countries participated in the event. Russia achieved its best overall result in the post-Soviet era, winning 10 gold medals, 1 silver, and 2 bronze. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Russian athletes delivered their best performance since 1990.
