Description

In 1999, the Ministry of Finance and Industry received the ISO 9001:1994 certification for quality management, becoming the first federal institution in the UAE and the first ministry of its size and specialization globally to achieve this distinction. ISO 9001 is a globally recognized standard for quality management that helps organizations of all sizes and sectors improve their performance, meet customer expectations, and demonstrate their commitment to quality. Its requirements define how to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve a quality management system (QMS). Implementing ISO 9001 signifies that an organization has effective processes and trained staff to consistently deliver flawless products or services.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918–2004) was an Emirati leader, credited with founding the United Arab Emirates. He governed the Eastern Region before becoming Abu Dhabi's ruler in 1966 and later the UAE's first president until his passing in 2004. Revered as the "Father of the Nation," he played a pivotal role in uniting the seven emirates. Zayed succeeded his brother as Abu Dhabi's ruler after a peaceful coup in 1966.

The falcon's seven tail feathers also symbolize the emirates. The falcon grasps a red parchment with the federation's name in Kufic script and a dhow on its chest.
