Description

In 2016–2017, under the direction of the Ministry of Finance, the Mint of Finland issued a series of collector coins with a nominal value of €5. These coins, part of the Presidents of Finland series, were included in the Finland 100 programme, celebrating the centenary of Finland's independence. The series featured eight coins honoring Finnish presidents: K.J. Ståhlberg, L.K. Relander, P.E. Svinhufvud, Kyösti Kallio, Risto Ryti, C.G.E. Mannerheim, J.K. Paasikivi, and U.K. Kekkonen.

A recent addition to the series honors Martti Ahtisaari (1937–2023), commemorating the late president's life and contributions.
