On September 27, 1825, George Stephenson's revolutionary steam locomotive, Locomotion No. 1, made history by transporting hundreds of passengers across a 26-mile stretch in England, from Shildon to Darlington and Stockton. This remarkable journey marked the official inauguration of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the world's first public railway to use steam locomotives. It signaled the dawn of the modern railway era, a transformative development that would revolutionize transportation, commerce, and industry worldwide.
