Laskarina Bouboulina (1771–1825) was a Greek naval commander and a key figure in the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire. As one of the few female leaders in the conflict, she used her wealth to build warships, including the legendary Agamemnon, and led naval operations against the Ottomans. She played a crucial role in the sieges of Nafplio and Tripoli, supplying troops and coordinating attacks. Despite her contributions, she faced political struggles after the war and was ultimately killed in a family dispute in 1825. Today, she is celebrated as a national heroine of Greece.
