Obverse

Depicts the crowned arms of San Marino in a heart-shaped shield, sprigs around and a motto below. The engraver's name in the center below.

The elements comprising the coat of arms of San Marino include a shield featuring three mountains with three towers, each adorned with an ostrich feather weather vane. These towers symbolize the citadels of San Marino (La Guaita, La Cesta, and La Montale), while the hills represent the three summits of Monte Titano. The motto "LIBERTAS" in Latin, meaning freedom, is also part of the coat of arms.

Reverse

Depicts a majestic peregrine falcon sitting on a branch.

San Marino's Peregrine Falcon is a symbol of strength, speed, and freedom, reflecting the spirit of the small but proud republic. Known for its incredible hunting abilities and swift flight, the peregrine falcon is one of the fastest birds in the world, capable of reaching speeds over 300 km/h in a dive. This majestic raptor has long been associated with the rocky cliffs and medieval towers of San Marino, where it finds an ideal habitat. Revered for its resilience and adaptability, the peregrine falcon represents the enduring independence and determination of San Marino, making it a fitting emblem for the nation.
