The Chechen Republic, is a federal subject of Russia. It is located in the North Caucasus, and within 100 kilometres (62 miles) of the Caspian Sea. The capital of the republic is the city of Grozny. Since 1990, the Chechen Republic has had many legal, military, and civil conflicts involving separatist movements and pro-Russian authorities.

Linear-graphic composition of the coat of arms is made on the basis of a circle in two-dimensional plane. In the inner part of the circle depicts the Symbol of Unity, Eternity in the form of Chechen national ornament. Stylized mountains, the historic tower of Chechens and oil derrick. Wheat ears symmetrically framed by the inner circle, symbolizing the wealth of the Chechen people. In the upper part of the ears of corn crowned with the Crescent and star. On the outer circle shows the pattern of the Chechen ornaments in the national style.
