Obverse

Depicts the emblem of the Bank of Russia, the double-headed eagle without a crown, sceptre and globus cruciger. It is exactly the same eagle, that the artist Ivan Bilibin painted after the February Revolution as a coat of arms for the Russian Republic.

Under the eagle the semicircular inscription BANK OF RUSSIA, to the right under the eagle’s paw the mintmark (ММД or СПМД), on the top along the rim the denomination FIVE RUBLES, on the bottom two horizontal lines divided by a dot and the year of mintage under it.
