Description

Charlotte (Charlotte Adelgonde Élise/Elisabeth Marie Wilhelmine; 1896–1985) reigned as Grand Duchess of Luxembourg from 1919 until her abdication in 1964. She was the last agnatic member of the House of Nassau.

Obverse	Animal (fish, bird, mammal etc.) Lion Coat of arms Luxembourg Crown, jewelry Luxembourg Lesser coat of arms of Luxembourg flanked by stars. There are several versions of the Luxembourg coat of arms that have their origin from the Medieval period. The one with the Grand Duke’s royal crown and a single lion with two forked tails is called the Lesser version. It closely resembles the design used by Henry VI while he was the Count of Luxembourg from 1282 through 1288. ★ LUXEMBOURG ★
