The coat of arms of the Republic of Cyprus is a dove holding an olive twig, the independence year 1960, laurel twigs around.

From 1991 the coin displays new coat of arms (KM# 53.3) where the laurel twigs no longer touch the shield.

Cyclamen cyprium (Cyprus cyclamen) is a perennial growing from a tuber, native to woodland at 300–1,200 m (980–3,940 ft) elevation in the mountains of Cyprus. It is the national flower.
