The Royal Mint has released new crown coins which are minted in celebration of the wedding of Her Majesty’s third grandson, His Royal Highness, Prince Henry of Wales, to his intended, Meghan Markle. The ceremony takes place on the 19th May. Historic and ornate, the ceremony will be held in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, a venue which is no stranger to royal weddings, but it has never staged one like this. His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales is following his heart to marry his fiancée, the American actress whom he met on an arranged date by mutual friends.
Prince Henry of Wales (Henry Charles Albert David; born 1984), familiarly known as Prince Harry, is a member of the British royal family. He is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne.
Rachel Meghan Markle (born 1981) is an American actress and humanitarian. From 2011 to 2018, she portrayed Rachel Zane on the legal drama series Suits for seven seasons. Markle's film credits include Remember Me and Horrible Bosses. In 2017, she became engaged to Prince Harry, and announced her retirement from acting and her intention to pursue humanitarian work. Markle will become the first titled American-born member of the British royal house and family.
The Brilliant Uncirculated coins are sealed and presented in a colourful folder with images of the royal couple and details about their life.
