A dallah is a traditional Arabic coffee pot used for centuries to brew and serve Qahwa, a spicy, bitter coffee. Commonly used in the Arabian Peninsula and Bedouin coffee traditions, it symbolizes hospitality and is often present at social events and rites of passage. Featuring a distinctive bulbous body, tapered waist, flared top, spire-shaped lid, and a long spout with a crescent-shaped beak, dallahs can be made from brass, steel, silver, or gold. Richly ornamented with geometric patterns and semi-precious gemstones, the dallah dates back to the mid-17th century and remains a cultural icon in the Persian Gulf, appearing in public artworks and on currency.
