Description

Cairo University, also known as the Egyptian University from 1908 to 1940, and King Fuad I University and Fu'ād al-Awwal University from 1940 to 1952, is Egypt's premier public university. Its main campus is in Giza, immediately across the Nile from Cairo. It was founded on 21 December 1908.

The Faculty of Commerce at Cairo University dates back to the year 1911, when what is known as the Higher Trade School was established, and the period of study was three years, and its first batches - consisting of only 19 students - graduated in 1914. The duration of the study remained three years until the establishment of a board of directors for the school in November 1923, this council worked to amend the school's programs, and among its amendments was to make the study period four years.

On August 22, 1935, Decree No. 91 was issued to merge all higher schools into the Egyptian University - later Cairo University - to transform the School of Commerce into the College of Commerce.
