Henri (born 16 April 1955) is the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, reigning since 7 October 2000. He is the eldest son of Grand Duke Jean and Princess Joséphine Charlotte of Belgium, and a first cousin of the current King of the Belgians, Philippe.

In the traditional linear style and signed with the engraver's initials 'GC', the effigy of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri, in profile facing to the right, is surrounded to the left by the word Luxembourg and to the right by the 12 stars. The date, between the two mint marks, is on the left.

Mint marks:
2002–2004: Mercury's wand, logo of the Royal Dutch Mint
2005–2006: S letter, logo of the Mint of Finland

Mint master marks (the star indicates that the piece was struck at the beginning of the term of office of a successor):
2002: Bow and arrow+star (E. J. van Schauwenburg)
2003–2004: Sailboat (Maarten Brouwer)

Engraver: Yvette Gastauer-Claire

A geographical map of Western Europe spans the outer ring and inner core on the left side of the coin.

12 stars are located on the left side of the outer ring, with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin, visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.

Luc Luycx, a designer at the Royal Belgian Mint, designed the Euro’s common reverse; his initials, LL, are seen on the right side of the design, just under the “0” in “20.”
