Description

The General Egyptian Survey Authority was established in 1898 under the name of the Public Survey Authority, and the purpose of its establishment at the time was to cover the land of Egypt with topographic maps and to create maps and ownership books for agricultural lands located within the reins and for properties built within cities with the aim of collecting real estate taxes on them and establishing records for them.

In 1971, the authority was transformed into a public authority affiliated with the Ministry of Irrigation, and its tasks were determined by several republican decisions. During its long life, the authority has gone through many stages during which the scope of its work expanded and technical methods developed to keep pace with the global development in this field, and in the recent period it made great achievements in the field of digital transformation, which provides the geographic information infrastructure necessary for all economic activities in particular and development in general within the framework of a strategy The state related to building e-government and within the framework of the global trend in the information age.
