Description

The collector coin Children and Creativity is the first one whose theme was decided by popular vote. All entries were submitted by students at senior secondary schools specialising in arts. Visitors at the Mint of Finland’s website voted “Beyond this Horizon” by 17-year-old Roope Määttä, studying at the Kajaani Upper Secondary School, specialising in visual arts, as the subject of the collector coin.

The collector coin was issued in the Mint of Finland’s new series Ethical Collector Coins. Peace and Security, issued in 2009, was the first coin in the series.
