Description

The 30th Anniversary of the Accession of Andorra to the United Nations is a significant milestone for the country. It commemorates Andorra's membership in the United Nations, marking 30 years of active participation and collaboration within the international community.

Andorra's accession to the United Nations in 1993 marked its official membership in the global organization. It has since actively engaged in global dialogue, contributed to peacekeeping efforts, and advocated for important issues such as human rights and sustainable development. Andorra's UN membership reflects its commitment to international cooperation and its desire to play a meaningful role on the global stage.

Obverse

Depicts a stylized number "30" representing the anniversary, composed of the number 3 and a globe. It is surrounded by a wreath made of traditional olive tree branches, inspired by the coat of arms of the United Nations. Above the design, you can see the coat of arms of Andorra and the inscription "Andorra Member of the United Nations". Below the motif, the word "years" and the year "2023". The twelve stars of the European flag are shown on the outer coin ring.

Reverse

A geographical map of Western Europe spans the outer ring and inner core on the right side of the coin. The inscription 2 EURO is superimposed over the map of Europe, with the numeral “2” located in an open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean.

12 stars are located on the right side of the outer ring, with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin, visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.

Luc Luycx, a designer at the Royal Belgian Mint, designed the Euro’s common reverse; his initials, LL, are seen on the right side of the design, just under the “O” in “EURO.”
