Description

Celebrate 60 years of Britain’s favourite secret agent with a 007 collection dedicated to each era of Bond, comprising six decade-specific coins and a completer coin.

The James Bond film series is a series of spy films based on the fictional character of MI6 agent James Bond, "007", who originally appeared in a series of books by Ian Fleming. It is one of the longest continually-running film series in history, having been in on-going production from 1962 to the present (with a six-year hiatus between 1989 and 1995). In that time Eon Productions has produced 24 films, most of them at Pinewood Studios. Six actors have portrayed 007 in the Eon series.

The engraver's initials below. The central image sits within the unmistakable gun barrel border that memorably appears at the beginning of every 007 movie.

"The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977) is the tenth James Bond film starring Roger Moore, directed by Lewis Gilbert. The plot involves Bond and Soviet agent Anya Amasova teaming up to thwart the megalomaniac Karl Stromberg's plan to destroy the world and create a new civilization under the sea. The film was well-received, praised for Moore's performance and considered a franchise return to form. It was shot in Egypt, Italy, and the Bahamas, with a notable set built at Pinewood Studios. The soundtrack by Marvin Hamlisch was successful, and the film earned three Academy Award nominations.

"Wet Nellie" refers to a specially crafted submarine designed in the form of a Lotus Esprit S1 sports car for the 1977 James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me. The choice of the Esprit aimed to provide James Bond with a stylish and glamorous vehicle. The name "Wet Nellie" is a nod to Little Nellie, an autogyro showcased in the James Bond film You Only Live Twice, which, in turn, was named after the actress and comedian Nellie Wallace.
