Description

The Qatar Central Bank serves as Qatar's central bank. Established in 1973 as the Qatar Monetary Agency, it has collaborated with larger central banks, notably the Monetary Authority of Singapore, to ensure the stability of the country's currency.

Obverse

Depicts the coat of arms of Qatar, the name of the Qatar Bank above, the country name below and the denomination on both sides all in Arabic.

The emblem shows two crossed white curved swords in a yellow circle. Between the swords, there is a sailing ship (dhow) sailing on blue and white waves beside an island with two palm trees.
