The Swiss Shooting Sport Federation, also known as the Schweizer Schiesssportverband (SSSV), is a group in Switzerland that organizes sports shooting. It has been around since 2001, but its history goes all the way back to 1824. The SSSV is connected with international shooting organizations like the International Shooting Sport Federation and the European Shooting Confederation.
Back in 1824, during a time called the Swiss Restoration, the Schweizerischer Schützenverein (SSV) was established to revive the military traditions of the Old Swiss Confederacy. Over the years, it joined the Swiss Olympic Association and merged with other shooting associations, forming the Swiss Shooting Federation in 2002. This federation includes groups like the Swiss Clay Shooting Federation (SCSF).

"Dominus Providebit," meaning "the Lord will provide," originated from Genesis 22:8 and was initially featured on Bern coins in 1716. To enhance protection against counterfeiting, the Federal Mint incorporated this motto into the border script of the 20-franc pieces in 1886. DOMICNUS | PROVIDEBIT *********** | ** |
