Obverse

Depicts a hunting scene. In the foreground, a short-haired Hungarian Vizsla is walking in water, displaying a characteristic "wild standing" posture, while in the background, a wire-haired Hungarian Vizsla is emerging from reeds. The breed name, "HUNGARIAN VIZSLA," is inscribed in the upper half-circle. The engraver's privy mark is placed in the center at the bottom.

The Hungarian Vizsla, also known as the Magyar Vizsla or Hungarian Pointer, is a versatile hunting dog from Hungary, recognized by major kennel clubs. Belonging to the Sporting group, the Vizsla is celebrated for its medium size, loyalty, and capability in hunting, pointing, and retrieving game both on land and in water. Originating from a mix of several breeds, the Vizsla has a rich history dating back to early Hungarian hunters in the Carpathian Basin, with depictions in medieval manuscripts like the Codex Albensis and the Illustrated Chronicle. Official pedigree registration for the breed began in 1920, with the breed standard established in 1928 and FCI recognition in 1935. Today, the Hungarian Vizsla is a prominent and beloved breed worldwide, especially in Western Europe and the United States.
