Celebrating the power of imagination in Montgomery's life and works, the design transitions from a depiction of the author writing (illustrated by a portfolio and inkwell) to an image of Anne Shirley, the novel’s eponymous heroine, gazing out at Prince Edward Island. This idyllic setting not only serves as the backdrop for Anne of Green Gables but also inspired many of Montgomery's other stories.

Anne Shirley is a fictional character introduced in L. M. Montgomery's 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables. The series follows her life and family in 19th and 20th-century Prince Edward Island. While developing Anne of Green Gables, Montgomery drew from notes she made as a young girl about two siblings who received an orphan girl instead of the boy they expected but chose to keep her. She also drew from her own childhood in rural Prince Edward Island.
