The Abu Al Bukhoosh field in the Arabian Gulf (UAE) features an offshore platform located 180 km northwest of the Abu Dhabi shoreline. Production began in 1974 with PP, AKC, and a storage tanker, followed by the installation of AKW and LQ1 in 1977. From 1977 to 1981, water injection and gas lift were implemented. Subsequent phases included new platforms at AKS, AKW, and AKE from 1983 to 1989. In 1997, gas injection was developed to maintain reservoir pressure, and in 2002, an oil export pipeline was commissioned. Khuff gas production began in 1989 with KPP, followed by NKPP platforms in 2003. To date, 117 wells have been drilled and operated.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918–2004) was an Emirati leader, credited with founding the United Arab Emirates. He governed the Eastern Region before becoming Abu Dhabi's ruler in 1966 and later the UAE's first president until his passing in 2004. Revered as the "Father of the Nation," he played a pivotal role in uniting the seven emirates. Zayed succeeded his brother as Abu Dhabi's ruler after a peaceful coup in 1966.
