Description

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, commonly known as the Dubai Chamber, is a public non-profit organization. Its mission is to support Dubai's business community and promote the city as an international business hub. It was established by a decree from the late Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, in 1965. The Dubai Chamber began with 450 members and a 12-member board of directors.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (1948–2022), the UAE's second president and ruler of Abu Dhabi from November 2004 to May 2022, was the eldest son of the UAE's first president, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He took on a significant role in the late 1990s due to his father's health issues and officially became Abu Dhabi's leader in 2004. His tenure saw cultural and academic growth, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Etihad Airways. Under his leadership, the UAE became a major economic power. Known for his pro-Western stance, he strengthened ties with the US and Israel.

Dubai Chamber's head office is a shining example of how existing, high-energy energy and water-consuming high-rise glass facade building can be transformed into a healthy, green skyscraper.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's head office achieved the ENERGY STAR label with a “most efficient” rating of 91, meaning it consumes less energy than 91% of similar buildings in the US. It is also the first LEED Existing Building Operations and Maintenance (EBOM) in the Arab world, currently certified to the Platinum level, and has an ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certified health, safety and environmental management system.
