Trident (Trishula) with sun and moon flanking above the Himalayas, name of country and date below over the inscription in Devanagari "Birendra Bir Bikram Shah".

The Trishula is a type of South Asian trident also found in Southeast Asia. It is commonly used as a Hindu-Buddhist religious symbol.

The Himalayas, or Himalaya, are a mountain range in Asia separating the plains of the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau.
