Description

Father Frost and Summer (Russian: Дед Мороз и лето, literal translation is Grandfather Frost and Summer) is a 1969 Soviet musical animated fairy tale produced by Soyuzmultfilm, directed by Ivan Ivanov-Vano and written by Vasiliy Livanov.

Living in the North Pole, Father Frost has never seen summer and does not know what it is until children tell him about it at a New Year party. Father Frost is so inspired by the idea of summer that he decides to see it at all costs. He comes to the city where summer heat makes him feel sick. Children treat Father Frost with ice cream and save him. Then they show him summer.

Obverse

In the centre the relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, above the semicircular inscription along the rim THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION framed on both sides by ornamental elements of doubled rhombuses, in the lower part of the disc, at the edge the horizontal inscriptions BANK OF RUSSIA and 25 RUBLES, the date 2018 under it, over it to the right the mint trade mark.

The two main elements of Russian state symbols (the two-headed eagle and the mounted figure slaying the dragon) predate Peter the Great. Today, however, the official description does not refer to the rider on the central shield as representing Saint George, mainly in order to maintain the secular character of the modern Russian state. The imperial crowns on each head stand for the unity and sovereignty of Russia, both as a whole and in its constituent republics and regions. The orb and scepter grasped in the eagle's talons are traditional heraldic symbols of sovereign power and authority. They have been retained in the modern Russian arms despite the fact that the Russian Federation is not a monarchy.

Father Frost or Ded Moroz (Russian: Дед Мороз, literal translation Grandfather Frost) is a fictional character similar to that of Father Christmas and Santa Claus and has its roots in Slavic paganism mythology. The tradition of Ded Moroz is mostly spread in East Slavic countries and is an important part of Russian culture.

Ded Moroz is depicted as bringing presents to well-mannered children, often delivering them in person on New Year's Eve. Ded Moroz wears a heel-length fur coat, a semi-round fur hat, and valenki on his feet. He has a long white beard. He walks with a long magic staff.
