Description

Since 2018 a new obverse: a smaller picture with rounded serifs.

Obverse

"The Sower" sowing stars, adapted from the Slovenian Impressionist painter Ivan Grohar (1967-1911), is encircled by the twelve stars of Europe alternated with the letters of the word "SLOVENIJA" (Slovenia).

The Sower (Slovene: Sejalec), created in 1907, is an oil on canvas painting. It is an image of a peasant sowing seeds on a ploughed field in an early and foggy morning. It has become one of the most characteristic and established Slovene creations in visual arts.

Engravers: Miljenko Licul and assistants Maja Licul and Janez Boljka
