Description

The Royal Mint secured the contract for the 1967 coin production, but the project was entirely subcontracted. M.B.L. (The Mint, Birmingham, Limited, also known as Heaton's Mint) handled the 10 sengi coins, while I.M.I. (Imperial Metal Industries Limited, which includes King's Norton) was responsible for minting the 1 Likuta and 5 Makuta coins.

The leopard (Panthera pardus) is one of the five "big cats" in the genus Panthera. It is similar in appearance to the jaguar, but has a smaller, lighter physique. Its fur is marked with rosettes similar to those of the jaguar, but the leopard's rosettes are smaller and more densely packed, and do not usually have central spots as the jaguar's do. Both leopards and jaguars that are melanistic are known as black panthers.
