The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara was a wedding present in 1947 from her grandmother, Queen Mary, who received it as a gift from the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland in 1893 on the occasion of her marriage to the Duke of York, later George V. Made by E. Wolfe & Co., it was purchased from Garrard & Co. by a committee organised by Lady Eve Greville. In 1914, Mary adapted the tiara to take 13 diamonds in place of the large oriental pearls surmounting the tiara. At first, Elizabeth wore the tiara without its base and pearls but the base was reattached in 1969. The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara is one of Elizabeth's most recognisable pieces of jewellery due to its widespread use on British banknotes and coinage.

Depicts the image of a Sontaran designed by Robert Holmes. The Sontaran shone brightly against an orange and blue galaxy giving the Sontaran a sense of fighting through space and time.

Surrounding the Sontaran and coloured background is a fine border with "DOCTOR WHO" inscribed below. Inscribed to the left is "1/2 OZ 999 FINE SILVER".

The Sontarans are a fictional race of extraterrestrial humanoids principally portrayed in the British science fiction television programme Doctor Who and it's spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures. A warrior race characterised by their ruthlessness and fearlessness of death, they were conceived by writer and future story editor Robert Holmes and first appeared in the 1973 Doctor Who serial The Time Warrior. The Sontarans were depicted as a humanoid race of belligerent and militaristic clones from the planet Sontar, created by the Kaveetch. They waged an eternal war throughout Mutter's Spiral against the Rutans, though they made no effort to change this nor did they want peace.
