Description

Ferrara is a city and comune in Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy, capital of the Province of Ferrara. It is situated 44 kilometres (27 miles) northeast of Bologna, on the Po di Volano, a branch channel of the main stream of the Po River, located 5 km (3 miles) north. The town has broad streets and numerous palaces dating from the Renaissance when it hosted the court of the House of Este. For its beauty and cultural importance, it has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The Castello Estense (‘Este castle’) or castello di San Michele (‘St. Michael's castle’) is a moated medieval castle in the centre of Ferrara, northern Italy. It consists of a large block with four corner towers.

Partially inside a big dotted circle, a particular from a fresco of the "Salone dei Mesi" inside the Schifanoia Palace. The fresco represents the zodiac sign Taurus as taken from the representation of the month of April. April is depicted as a young man seated above the constellation (above the stars is depicted a bull, with a radiant sun below) holding a big key in his right hand. Inside the dotted circle is present also the value, the date and the mintmark.
