The Green Bush-cricket, scientifically known as Tettigonia viridissima, is a species of large, vibrant green bush-cricket belonging to the family Tettigoniidae. Widely distributed across Europe and parts of Asia, these insects are characterized by their distinctive green coloration and long antennae. Typically found in meadows, gardens, and woodland areas, they are known for their powerful hind legs and well-developed wings, enabling them to cover short distances through flight. As herbivorous insects, Green Bush-crickets primarily feed on plant material, showcasing a crucial role in local ecosystems. Their distinctive appearance and behavioral traits make them subjects of interest in entomological studies and contribute to the rich biodiversity of their habitats.
