The Italian mint introduced the “Cultura Enogastronomica Italiana” (Italian Food and Wine Culture) series in 2020. Each issue is dedicated to a specific region and showcases famous monuments in the background with culinary treasures standing out in colour in front of it.

Depicts the iconic Tuscan cantucci alongside a glass of Vin Santo wine. In the backdrop, bichromatic marble inlays, reminiscent of Tuscan Romanesque art, frame a window adorned with motifs inspired by the façade of the Abbey of San Miniato al Monte in Florence. From this window, one can glimpse Brunelleschi's dome of the Florence Cathedral, the Bell Tower of Giotto, and the Arnolfo Tower of Palazzo Vecchio. Positioned vertically on the left are the inscriptions "TOSCANA" and "Republic" while "Italy" sits above them. At the bottom, the designer's signature, M. BONIFACIO, completes the composition. In the forefront lies the picturesque scenery of the Sienese hills, while in the distance stretch vast vineyards, adorned with cypress trees, and the serene Tuscan coastline along the Tyrrhenian Sea. Positioned centrally above is the winged horse Pegasus enclosed within a Samnite shield, symbolizing the region of Tuscany. Arching above, the inscription "Flavors of Italy" graces the scene, while the coin's denomination "5 EURO" sits below at the center. On the right, the letter "R" designates the Mint of Rome, and on the left, "2024" indicates the year of the coin's release. SAPORI D'ITALIA |
