Description

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the main international airport serving Dubai, UAE, and holds multiple world records for its passenger and cargo traffic. It ranks as the busiest airport globally for international passenger traffic and is the Middle East's busiest hub. DXB also tops the list for Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 movements, as well as the highest average number of passengers per flight. In 2023 alone, the airport handled 87 million passengers, 1.81 million tonnes of cargo, and accommodated 416,405 aircraft movements. The airport's expansion began with the opening of Terminal 2 in 1998, followed by Concourse 1 (Sheikh Rashid Terminal) in April 2000, featuring extensive amenities like hotels, business centers, dining options, and health facilities.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918–2004) was an Emirati leader, credited with founding the United Arab Emirates. He governed the Eastern Region before becoming Abu Dhabi's ruler in 1966 and later the UAE's first president until his passing in 2004. Revered as the "Father of the Nation," he played a pivotal role in uniting the seven emirates. Zayed succeeded his brother as Abu Dhabi's ruler after a peaceful coup in 1966.
