Description

Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (1912–1990) was an Emirati royal and politician, instrumental in founding the United Arab Emirates. He served as the first vice president and the second prime minister of the UAE, and was the ruler of Dubai for 32 years, from 1958 until his death in 1990. As vice president from the UAE's founding until his death, Al Maktoum was the first to concurrently serve as prime minister, beginning on 30 April 1979. Since his tenure, every prime minister has also been de facto vice president.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (1918–2004) was an Emirati leader, credited with founding the United Arab Emirates. He governed the Eastern Region before becoming Abu Dhabi's ruler in 1966 and later the UAE's first president until his passing in 2004. Revered as the "Father of the Nation," he played a pivotal role in uniting the seven emirates. Zayed succeeded his brother as Abu Dhabi's ruler after a peaceful coup in 1966.

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is a convention and exhibition center with a rich history. Completed in 1979 and originally named the Sheikh Rashid Tower, it marked Dubai's first major tower and business hub. Designed by John R. Harris and Partners (JRHP), it was inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II on February 26, 1979. The DWTC expanded over the years, starting with the opening of Halls 1 and 2 of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) in 1988, followed by Hall 3. In 1996, Halls 4–8 increased the exhibition space by about 27,870 square meters. In 2003, the new Dubai International Convention Exhibition Centre opened, along with a concourse connecting Halls 1 and 2, the Convention Tower, and the Novotel and Ibis Hotels.
