The emblem of Kazakhstan, adopted on June 4, 1992, features a shanyrak (the upper dome of a yurt) against a sky blue background with sun ray-like uyks (supports) and wings of mythical horses inspired by Tulpar. The circular emblem symbolizes life and eternity, while the shanyrak represents family well-being, peace, and calmness. The country's name in Kazakh appears at the bottom.

A traditional yurt is a portable, round tent used by Central Asian nomads, made of a wooden or bamboo lattice framework, door frame, ribs, and a wheel-shaped crown. The roof is often self-supporting, with larger yurts having interior posts.

Tulpar, a winged horse in Turkic mythology, appears in the state emblems of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Bashkortostan.
