Felipe VI, born on January 30, 1968, is the King of Spain, holding the military rank of Captain General and serving as head of state and commander-in-chief of the Spanish Armed Forces. Born in Madrid as the only son of Prince Juan Carlos of Spain and Princess Sophia of Greece and Denmark, Felipe became Prince of Asturias in 1977. He studied law at the Autonomous University of Madrid and earned a Master's degree from Georgetown University. He married journalist Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano in 2004, and they have two daughters.
