Description

The Royal Spanish Mint commemorates with this coin the historic victory of Spain in the Euro 2024 Championship in the Final against England, celebrating not only the sporting triumph but also the spirit of competition and brotherhood among nations.

The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, known as UEFA Euro 2024 or simply Euro 2024, was the 17th edition of the quadrennial international football tournament organized by UEFA for European men's national teams. Hosted by Germany from 14 June to 14 July 2024, the tournament featured 24 teams, including debutants Georgia. This was the third time Germany hosted European Championship matches and the first in former East Germany, with Leipzig as a host city. It was also the first major tournament in Germany since the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Italy, the defending champions, were eliminated by Switzerland in the round of 16. Host nation Germany was knocked out by Spain in the quarter-finals. Spain won the tournament for a record fourth time, defeating England 2–1 in the final, marking England's second consecutive final appearance.

Originally featuring inscriptions in French and a juggling boy on the back, the trophy was redesigned in 2008 to be larger and more stable, with the names of the winning countries now engraved on the back.
